The Electricity History Society

They are the home of the Western Power Electricity Historical Society. They have an archive and museum in Bristol and are developing a Visitors Centre. 




Historic England

Historic England  covers research into coal and oil-fired power stations as they are decommissioned, including best practice on documenting them for the historical record.

Report published in 2017 by Historic England and written by Jonathan Clarke.  This report places power stations into their historical, technological and engineering context.  This research was originally commissioned as scoping work for the National Heritage Protection Plan’s Responsive Designation activity.
