`B’ station closed in 1993 but was left mothballed until asbestos stripping had been completed.
The demolition programme was carried out in stages and included the remainder of the `A’ Station buildings. Brown and Mason were the demolition contractors. Demolition was completed when the cooling towers were finally demolished in 1998. Andrew James was Site Demolition Engineer for PowerGen
